Bodrum

This lively and cosmopolitan resort has a large imposing castle that dominates the harbour and also houses an interesting undersea museum. The Crusader Knights castle is open to the public and a short walk from your yacht if you are starting your blue voyage in this resort. Bodrum also hosts several boat building yards that are noted for their appealing design, high quality build and modern construction techniques. There are also many chic cafe bars and restaurants, plus a full range of accommodation close by. At the opposite side of the municipal marina, there is a private marina with a shopping mall adjoining it. The town also has, many traditional Turkish shops selling popular local produce and souvenirs. Bodrum is also famous for its nightlife with seafront night clubs and large disco boats. The only thing you won’t find is a beach! You have to visit one of the several resorts located close by for this. As well as a ferry service to Kos, there are services to other Greek Islands during the busy summer months. Bodrum is also connected to the well organised and reasonably priced coach network that links the major cities in Turkey. The closest airport is Bodrum Milas Airport, with a transfer time of approximately 30 minutes.

Marmaris

This large and busy resort is set in the most breathtaking scenery, surrounded by pine clad mountains and islands that form a large natural harbour. As well as being a popular holiday resort, Marmaris is also one on Turkey’s largest ports, housing several private marinas and numerous yachting services, plus a daily ferry service to Rhodes. There is an abundance of accommodation to suit all budgets, plus a whole range of restaurants, cafe-bars and fast food establishments. The castle which overlooks the bay and houses a museum dates back to Suleiman the Magnificent time, sits above the small old town and main municipal marina. For the shopaholics the large shopping bazaar sells a whole range of goods and souvenirs, popular purchases include; traditional hand painted pottery, nargile (the traditional water pipes) gold, leather wear and handmade rugs, but don’t leave without sampling the locally produced honey! Marmaris is linked to the outlying villages along the coast by a regular minibus service and also to the major cities in Turkey, via a regular and efficient coach service, that operates from the bus station on the edge of town. The closest airport is Dalaman which is approximately 1 hour 20 minute’s drive away. Bodrum Milas airport is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes transfer.

Fethiye

A well Known Turkish resort and situated in the heart of the Blue cruise route. The Bazaar and general shopping is situated within close walking distance of the municipal marina, here your yacht will be moored if you have chosen Fethiye as your arrival or departure point. Just behind the marina you will also be able to see and visit the impressive rock tombs and remains of an amphitheatre. Olu Deniz (the famous Blue Lagoon) and Kaya Koy (the deserted Greek village) are only about 25 minutes journey away by local minibus. Fethiye is also linked to the national bus network. Dalaman is the nearest airport, approximately 1 hour transfer time by road.
